About Me

My Background

My name is Galen McNaughton. I am an aspiring professional triathlete. I have completed two Olympic and three 70.3 triathlons. I just completed Ironman 70.3 Maryland (Eagleman) in 4:39:28. My next race will be my first Ironman 140.6 in Penn Yan, New York on August 17th. I have my USA Triathlon Associate Coaching Certification and my Personal Training Certification through American Council on Exercise (ACE). I started EnduraLife Athletics to help people achieve their fitness goals. My approach to training and fitness goes against the current trends. It doesn’t have a niche or offer a "lose 20 pounds in two weeks" program. I like to keep it simple: be consistent, be smart, and have fun. Your health and fitness journey is unique to you, and it can be something you enjoy, even look forward to, each day. Working along side me, you'll better understand just how effective the right program can be in getting you—and keeping you—on a path of health and wellness.

BS: Intelligence Analysis

Minor: Philosophy
James Madison University

My Intelligence Analysis degree integrated knowledge from a multitude of disciplines, such as philosophy, economics, and history. It taught me how to be an analyst, solving complex problems through research, writing, and creative thinking. Many of the skills I learned are transferable to training and allow me to make better recommendations unique to each athlete's data and story. One of my favorite classes was causal analysis. This class taught analysts to distinguish relevancy from a range of factors to solve an overarching problem. As a coach and athlete, I focus on the most relevant factors that will build the bridge connecting current status to the end result. Life is a chain reaction—every choice sets the path ahead.
